effortless life balance
About Me

I am a Psychologist and Psychotherapist working in Clinical Practice in Eltham North. I believe that we are all capable of effortless life balance and we need to trust in our own ability to achieve this balance. However, sometimes we need some guidance and tools.

There may be non-clinical needs to see a psychologist such as: a sense of discord, niggling thoughts, accidents, life feels like a struggle, lack of vitality, Life Transitions, Couples and Family issues. There may be clinical needs to see a psychologist such as: Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma.

The first step to effortless life balance is take responsibility for our own autonomy. Our responses to life are in our control even though we don’t have control over every aspect of our life. The second step is to practice self-care. This includes caring for our body, our mind and our actions. The third step may include therapy.

I am a Registered Psychologist and Endorsed Organisational Psychologist through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) working in Clinical Practice. I am registered with Medicare, TAC and WorkCover.

I am a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi).

My qualifications include: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Diploma in Education (Dip Ed), Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology (Grad Dip App Psych) and Master of Counselling (MCouns).

I have a diverse experience of 30 years in psychological practice. I have lectured in Ethical and Professional Practice and Counselling Skills.
Areas of Focus: Anxiety Treatment, Depression, Life Transitions, Trauma, Relationship & Family Therapy
Anxiety
Everyone feels anxious now and then. But if anxiety doesn’t go away and is affecting your everyday life, then you might have an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders are very common and they can be treated.
Trauma
Trauma is the psychological and emotional response to situations of extreme stress that overwhelms our ability to cope. The negative situations can be a one-off event or repeated situations. Trauma can trigger when there is a significant threat to your physical or psychological wellbeing.
Depression
Depression is a pervasive and relentless feeling of sadness that is not fleeting. It can be known as a ‘Dark Cloud’ or the ‘Black Dog’ that follows you everywhere you go. Feeling sad is a part of everyday life – but depression days are more intense.
Relationship Therapy
Relationship Therapy can take many forms: couples, family of origin, workplace relations, friends and relationship to self. Relationship Therapy can address a range of relationship issues.
Life Transitions
Life Transitions involve change that can be both positive and negative. Life changes can be difficult when you believe that you have no control, such as being retrenched from work, bullied by a co-worker or manager, death of a loved one, or a major health crisis.
FamilyTherapy
In Family Therapy, several family members may take part. Both parents are involved, together with one of the children whose problems brought the family to treatment in the first place. Other children in the family, or even grandparents may join in therapy if appropriate.
